Unit 1: Matter and Chemical Bonding
Students will build on the knowledge of atoms and molecules that they gained in Grade 9 and 10 Science, moving toward a modern view of atomic structure. Emphasis will be on practical applications and implications of the theory.

Unit 2: Chemical Reactions
Different types of chemical reactions with modern industrial examples.

Unit 3: Quantities in Chemical Reactions
The math of chemistry. Students will learn how make calculations of chemical formulas and with chemical reactions.

Unit 4: Solutions and Solubility
A general study of solutions and solubility patterns. Reactions of solutions are also studied with an emphasis on acid-base reactions.

Unit 5 - Gases and Atmospheric Chemistry
A study of the properties and behaviours of gases.
